this ... although that does not mean you will like them. Every single one I have play has been top notch quality.....but I haven't "liked" any of them and I can't explain why
Possibly because nothing perfect is really interesting.

"There is no exquisite beauty that has not some strangeness in the proportion"

Or something like that.
yeah that could be part of it for sure. I sort of like guitars you have to fight a little bit to play (so the action on mine are generally a bit higher than most "shredders" (not that I think i'm a shredder..you need to be good for that))
If Less is More Then Just Think How Much More More would be

"No money up there" I heard a muso say once. Probably right. Once you're past the third fret it's all self-indulgence. LOL

I recall the guy from Crowded House saying he likes to use quirky, cheap guitars sometimes as they make you play different things. If eye-candy wasn't so important we'd likely all seek guitars that bring-out something different in our playing.

My playing career is littered with attempts at doing that. In fact I have a perfectly decent strat copy downstairs that has approximately 4 minutes playing time on it (by me at least).
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Mine too. I occasionally buy a Rickenbacker then wonder why it's no good for the half-arsed version of whatever's in the wee spectrum between Knopfler and Bonamassa. All very well buying a guitar that'll do other stuff if you're actually capable of playing other stuff.

could be, the dude playing it was a monster shredder. might have been a combination.
That would've been the main difference between a CU22 and a S24. Their scale length are the same (25"), the extra 2 frets only affected the neck pickup position but didn't make it any "longer".
Not 100% on that. I think the C24 does feel a bit longer. Happy to be corrected but going one to another they do feel different.

the second link I posted has a graphic that explains the difference.
the bridge on a 24 is closer to the center of the body. that's why they kind of look cooler.

There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.
