looks like you got one of the last JJ's, i think there was only around 600 or so made when i was checking serials ages ago, mines is in the low 100's and i think was mid 90's
Is the board ebony?
Weird how different the specs were on a guitar that was a relatively small run. mine has rosewood board, bolt on neck, 1 pc wrap around bridge and was pre "diablo" pickups.

Wow, that looks amazing Brian! Positively gleaming! Just got back from the office mid-winter bowling. You inspired me to go and clean up my Pacifica. I went to the garage... feck it was cold! Went straight back in, lit the log burner and played with the new amp...

Yes. Looks to be ebony. Glued, unfinished neck. I posted it on a Jackson forum for a bit of info. Thanks for the info above. Not sure what JJ means?Green Bastard wrote:looks like you got one of the last JJ's, i think there was only around 600 or so made when i was checking serials ages ago, mines is in the low 100's and i think was mid 90's

I had a Soloist (J5102) and a Rhoads the serial number of which ended with two letters. O something I think.

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
Think JJ was "Jackson Junior". I know the JJ1 (mine) evolved into the JJ2 (yours),they were the US made Scott Ian sig. there was also a JJ4 but that was a much shittier model. i thought the JJ2 generally had a killswitch instead of a tone pot.
I may be wrong, but i think these were somewhere over $3k here when they were for sale, I remember seeing them new at rockshop and it was around the same as LP money back then.

It's a very posh guitar. I've a mate in the UK that collects Jacksons he'd love this one for all it's been a player.
Cheers for the info.

Blond tolex, wheat grill cloth, Fender piggyback hardware, an Eminence EPS-15c 15" neo speaker, a set of '51 Nocaster tele pickups. I think that's all.

Thanks Mister B.
The BOSS has some pluses, but the idea of a dongle just won't work in my environment. I'll break it, guaranteed. My old G30 served me well....probably 100's of gigs. But it is cheaply made, plasticky, and doesn't have the best range. Upgrade time.
