They look good. light too. would be interesting to try one against a L2T with a helix using the same IR. I am guessing there may not be much of a difference. pondering one of these.

What would you think the advantages would be of this over FRFR. Considering u can just be using IRs from ur modeller i kinda dont see the point?

Doubles as a cab for any other amp head.

Play with IRs for them

For me I wouldn't see the need to pay extra for the plus model but I like the idea. We're too far away to make buying the Matrix or Xitone offerings worth buying but this is something I'd definitely consider. Was using L3Ms in stereo as my backline but they're the PA speakers now.

This would probably solve my main issue with modellers - not feeling like I’m playing a real amp ‘in the room’. No issues with the PA signal but always a little underwhelmed with the ‘local’ sound. Will seriously consider.

I'm not sure if this is correct - it has line in, not a speaker input.

Not that I care, because... Line 6.

i think they have addressed this with the speaker models on the unit,as opposed to your usual ir which is a "speaker + mic".I've never tried a proper FRFR cab but its defo wierd for me playing an IR/ PA combo with other traditional amp setups in a practice setting

Ok, had about a 45 min blat. While I can definitely hear the difference when switching speaker models, my take at this stage is that I'd need to spend more time really A/Bing with a FRFR+speaker/IR to see if there is actually something gained (given the Plus is $1499, which is about what you can get a deal on an L3m for). This is for Helix of course, if you have a HD500 or whatever, you don't already have IR options so well worth it.

I kinda wanted to walk in, grab the Deluxe model (no speaker), drop into the Power Cab then boom, there's my DRRI. It wasn't like that at all, still overly bright and needing a decent amount of massaging. This is partially expected (the base settings I've found never do justice), but the speaker didn't add sag like I was hoping for/expecting. I might see if I can borrow one for a few days to test out against Helix->Torpedo Live-> FRFR also, as well as if I can rustle up a good power amp I'd love to try Helix->Power Amp->Dr Z cab and see how the FRFR competes with a great real cab.

Looks interesting. I'd give it a try, probably wouldn't expect it to sound exactly like a real cab but id be willing to be proven wrong.
