I think a student wants that as a lesson. Those guys and another band of young jazzers influenced by hip-hop who's name of course escapes me are very fashionable at Jazz school

Apparently "Too Shy" by Kajagoogoo was recorded on a Wal not a MusicMan as I always thought/assumed.

God I really miss my Wal basses....
Pretty sure that Grant Fell (RIP) ended up with my first one. I know the guy who has my 2nd one. When he bought it someone had swapped out the Wal preamp in favour of a Bartolini preamp which was a shame. Spoke to a mutual friend on the weekend and I understand the owner is looking to put the Wal preamp back in. A good move I reckon. :-)

Ex-student had a Valley Arts Samick
The '80s Samicks were an upgrade on the Hondo which was either better suited for archery or you needed the strength of five men to accurately fret a note.

I’m clearly way out of the Nz music scene.

I didn’t realise he’d passed away, boy he put some great songs out! That’s a shame.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Interesting Jazz Bass up on TM at the moment.
Advertised as a 1965, but there seem to some unoriginal parts on there which would significantly affect the price. At a glance, logo is wrong and the pickguard is not original.
