Re: first builds for 2018
The alder is wicked..almost has a burl going on....will need to be on the lookout when I get the rest planked to see if more have it...could make some caps out of them
trying on the dress
Am I nuts for thinking about putting a tuneomatic on instead of a floyd?

Re: first builds for 2018
yeah ... I just had some doubt. Got to be honest I have just been recording some rhythm guitars with my charvel and got a bit frustrated when I was hitting an E chord and then killing the strings (so the sound stops) there was a lag with the springs from the floyd. Now I could quite simply change to one of my non trem guitars .... but .... I realised I don't have an Alder guitar that is hardtail. Seems like a good opportunity to now have oneAiRdAd wrote:One word... YES!!!!!!

Re: Snakes alive (pg 3)
NZ grown alder, maple/maple neck JB/entwistle pick combo
I am assuming NZ alder is quite different to the stuff they use for fenders etc. This stuff is really soft and super easy to cut and machine (big plus there time and tools wise). Is very light weight as well. Had quite a lively mid range so is loud acoustically.
The snakeskin was SO MUCH easy to apply than the tolex ones I did..the skin softens with the glue and becomes really pliable so doing the edges was a piece of piss
All in all it sounds great

Re: Snakes alive (pg 3)
yeah its super cool...although its a little bit weird when you are wearing a long sleeve shirt and the scales on the skin grab the cloth and your arm sticks to the guitar a littleAiRdAd wrote:10 out 10 for this one!!!!

HA! Super cool, you could use epoxy to make it smooth, get a glass like finish on top!
