Quite funny to see the mixed bag of comments on here regarding JM. But you can't really knock the thing until you try it. I agree it does look a little funny but that goes for many guitars of the years.. And as for Mayer himself - not sure why people hating on him...

haha - sure thing. But what most forget is JM would leave most for dead when it comes to actually playing a guitar. rather than just moaning about how much u dont like them...

There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.
