Hope it's getting love.Polar Bear wrote:The LV09 lives in Wellington I believe.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Anybody got a Lowden?
This one reminds me of that massive 12 string Clapton had made by Zematis.

Sihirst and I have Lowdens. I feel like there's at least one other person on the forum who's got one as well.

Guilty as charged. They are spectacular guitars, in a different league really - with the likes of Collings, Santa Cruz, Goodall, etc..Slowy wrote:AiRdAd and Oleg.bbrunskill wrote:Sihirst and I have Lowdens. I feel like there's at least one other person on the forum who's got one as well.

Does running a 12 as a 6 string impact the guitar at all?Molly wrote:Anybody got a Lowden?

I'm sure it allows it to "relax" as it's not as stressed with all that extra poundage.
I like the neck width on my 12 string and have often contemplated playing it as a six,

I'll post pics of mine. It's way above my skill level, but I got it for such a great price that i don't feel guilty about keeping it!

I'd imagine the reduced tension would require a truss rod adjustment, but plenty of people do this, so I'm sure it would be ok.vintage52 wrote:Does running a 12 as a 6 string impact the guitar at all?Molly wrote:Anybody got a Lowden?

That Lowden 12 string will be a corker. I don't play a 12 string enough to justify that kind of investment, I'd need to join an ELO cover band.

For those who have never seen one. My favourite Larivee model.

Don't doubt it for a second. Though as Oleg and Conway will confirm, I can be effusive and blunt in equal measure.Polar Bear wrote:Correct.Slowy wrote:https://www.trademe.co.nz/music-instrum ... 345024.htm

That must have been over 10 years ago... the pair that was sitting in a queen street was definitely a sight.Slowy wrote: Some time back, Roger had both an LV-09 and a LV-10. I played both of them a lot while I tried to convince my wife this was an essential purchase. (Fat chance )
They were both gorgeous but in the end, I think I swayed toward the LV-09. Would love to meet it again.
Was disappointed that they didn’t have enough larrivees stocked up when I visited Auckland last year
