NVD
Picked this up on a bit of a whim. Was listed as 1995, but serial number puts it at 1990. Been in the back of my mind to get one ever since I tried Scooter's at a gearfest a while back. Haven't plugged it in yet... but so far, I'm thinking fuck yeah. Total bad ass.
I'll probably put some different pickups in there (has a Super Distortion in the bridge, but stock also included). And I want to get some reflector knobs. It came with gold bells (?) which just looked retarded - I had some speed knobs lying around which are better, but still not right.

Re: NVD
Always had a fascination with the classic Gibson V, back in my teens it wasn't as popular as the Jackson Vs but I liked the Gibson ones better, so much so as a 16 year old I started building one out of a big hunk of Mahogany the woodwork teacher gave me.
Ended up spending a small fortune getting a luthier to finish it in black with fully bound body, neck and headstock.....then soon after getting it finished it got stolen! So if you ever come across a custom built V with binding I'd love that back!
Happy NVD!

Other mods that you might consider....Faber Nashville to ABR conversion, ABR (check with me first...might have one available) alloy tail piece, check the pots...might be 300K...if so throw them out. Or you could just thrash it as is!

So 500K pots for replacements? Will have a serious think about the bridge conversion...GrantB wrote: Other mods that you might consider....Faber Nashville to ABR conversion, ABR (check with me first...might have one available) alloy tail piece, check the pots...might be 300K...if so throw them out. Re: NVD
I would recommend 500k, yes. Of course it might sound great as is...so fang it first.
