Ok! Impressions:

- Its heavy. Really heavy.
- Pickups are quite low output but I think they sound really good through my rig. I'm kinda on that low output pickup high gain buzz at the moment anyway so it feels good.
- Best clean chords sound is like a lot of LP style guitars - middle position. Sounds awesome.
- Plays really well
- In really good condition. No major dings but plently of scratches, cracked binding etc - as you'd expect from an oldie. The top of the back of the neck has nice wear down to the wood, looks awesome.

Very happy chappy :D

I don't have a Gibson at the moment, but the main reason I grabbed the 245 is it has two tones and two volumes and that is what I am so used to from SGs and LPs. I really like the middle position and the huge range of sounds you can get by adjusting those four controls.

That really fat tone in Brother In Arms is middle position, but most would think it is just the neck pup. Bridge pup is at lower volume than the neck and the tone rolled off a wee bit. Clapton's Woman tone is that too, but the tone rolled almost all the way back

Another thing I like to do is have the neck pup around half and the bridge around 8. Sounds close to the bridge on its own, but richer and a little less spiky up high.

...so I don't think I'm gonna be changing the pickups any time soon. Been a while since my amp and pedalboard has been in the same place... gain channel + OD + guitar = pretty damn awesome. :D

Might still tutu with the wiring a bit as I suspect the pots are like 100k, but the pickups can stay.
