Also keep in mind your running a Ricc into an AC15, Voxes have a very dynamic feel under the fingers and with a cleanish sound dialed in can be very clear.

Anyone else had a similar experience?
You have discovered the glorious thing that is a Rickenbacker guitar :zomg:

Glorious it is indeed. Mind you, I have also had similar great results with a Tele and a Danelectro DC59. Think I need a Jazzmaster......

I think all of those guitars, Tele, DC59, Rick have a sound which is partially the single coils and partially other things, which is a non-dense sound. A lot of space around the notes in a way, and less sustain. You have to play them differently, and they can be quite a lot of work, but the rewards are sweet.

I have gone the other way in the last month or so. I have always LOVED the tone from a single coil neck pickup (admittedly hotter ones like duncan quarter pounds) and put them in as many guitars as I could. But in the las few weeks they just seem a bit meh to me and I have been pretty much exclusively playing guitars with hums in the neck.

Still hate the sound of humbucker for clean though
