Nemesis

Post by Slowy »

There is a song I have refused to play; doesn't matter what it is. Unfortunately, my Bandmates through the years have ignored me and the damn thing is still on the setlist.

My issue? I have played this tune for decades. I know it backwards in my sleep. But occasionally, and usually when it matters most, I start to play it and my mind goes blank. It's a busy little thing and if you miss a bit, there's no coming back. Everybody knows.

Happened again last night. I'm long past being frustrated or upset, but I'm amazed that still sits there, biding its time, waiting for the opportunity to make a fool of me.

Am I alone in my affliction?

No. 'More Than Words' - That ******* horrible slice of saccharine-infused cheesecake vomit. I had to carry and maintain an electric acoustic for that one song and more than once sat there, mid-song desperately trying to remember where the f'k I was up to, as the singers carried on without accompaniment.

Anyway, spill the beans. What's the song???

I did the same thing with my own song once. I sometimes zone out at band and try to comprehend the size of the universe and whatnot... Really need to stop doing that :)

I hate the Satisfaction main riff. Never been in a band that wanted to play it, but I'm sure I'd get get it wrong, because the 'right' way irritates me so much.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Sometime when I start the riff of Born to be Wild I can't get the Blur song Park Life outta my head and start to play that. I go completely blank on how to play what I'm supposed to.
Loving it so far

I always have issues with Little Wing. Used to be able to play it after a bottle of Southern Comfort, now I struggle after a bottle of Monteiths.
