Embracing change, in an alternate tuning, E standard, haven't had a guitar in that for years, quite a hard thing to get my mind around

ooh, as in AADGBE? Yeah those kind of tunings are cool.

Mastodon have heaps of songs in AGCFAD (whole step down, with top one down to A), another cool option.
I thought most of their stuff was drop C or B?
(although granted the only stuff of theirs I have actually looked up is off crack the skye, but most of their other riffs sound 'right' in drop C too)

But no I mean drop A as in AEADF#C#

Oh right... like a drop Baritone tuning! Yeah that's kinda what I had my 7 string in, its awesome.

Mastodon use three tunings mainly - D Standard (eg Blood and Thunder), Drop C (drop D down a whole step) (eg Oblivion) and Drop A (AGCFAD, which is the BADGBE tuning you sometimes see down a whole step) (eg High Road, Curl of the Burl etc).

The last one is cool cause you can make octaves with a power chord shape on the top 2 strings. Also means you get some 7 string style low chuggage but keep the feel of a regular guitar on the other strings.
Love the don! been jaming some drop A stuff myself. I love the tune "chimes at midnight" a drop A delight

I'm well into DADGAD at the moment, albeit down half a step (C#G#C#F#G#C# doesn't roll off the tongue quite so easily though :problem: )

Nothing in particular, just my own nonsensical noodlings :mental:
I really like the open top strings ringing through on certain chords, plus it allows for nice heavy riffing too

I've been messing with eadgbe, but with the E string up two octaves, ADG strings up an octave. Sounds like this:

I believe Nashville has the low E one octave higher, this tuning has it two octaves up. But very similar in sound I'm sure.

I thought Nashville tuning was when you strung a 6 string using the lighter half of a pack of 12 strings? :eh: But I could be wrong.
Nothing to see here.
