pickup A = dimarzio 36th anniversary
pickup B = tonerider ac4

Were the pole pieces set the same?

I thought the 36th Anni was A but that's because I think they are generally a bit more balanced sounding to my ear, though were sounding brighter.
With a bit more vol and gain, those 36th's are going to sing, the AC4's are going to get a bit flubby, and were getting a bit ratty in that Bliss cover.

Depends on what level of gain you play I guess?

but it seems that at the volumes I use, the 36th are a little darj with the yamaha.
will likely use them in a LP shape guitar?
