I thought this was going to be about reverb effects. Glad I checked.
If I was flush with cash I might have a look at a 74 Les Paul. It's my birth year. I've always wanted a strat from that year but unfortunately not a great era for them.

They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Oh I can see this thread running forever!
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Well, if I'm reading the Trade Me thread correctly, the custom has found a loving home. That's nice.
