I dont see how you could find him annoying. he doesnt say anything.
now chappers and the captain on the other hand...
I think Delayman nailed it; he doesn't say anything. He gets a nice tone but his playing is incredibly bland. After you've heard a dozen of his clips, they all sound the same and I bet you couldn't pick what he's playing without looking.

Blaaand on the run

Yep, he is certainly the tofu of gear demos. Bland, inoffensive but after a while you are like 'why am I eating this'?

We've got one of these on consignment from Tony at Silverpistol at work. I'm sure he'd be happy for it to make its way to you for a bit of a hoon.

That's so true, except for the tofu bit. I love fried tofu a snack!

When I first started getting into guitars in a big way (about 4 years ago) I watched his videos for gear porn. But yes, it didn't take long before it was all a blur.

That guy Greg does make me want to stab by ears with a pencil. Every guitar he plays, he manages to make them sound identical. It's like elevator music except worse, as you have to look at his blandness too.

Anyway, a bit of dirt you say? I still use my MI Audio Blues Pro...it's clean, clear and doesn't have the mid bump unless you want it. I've had KTR's, Klones, vintage 808s etc...this is still the one for me. From light dirt to full on diarrhea.

If you want very low levels of gain, the Selma from TMG is excellent. More a grunty boost than a dirt pedal though.

MI Audio Blues Pro? Appear to be unobtainable at mo. Not retail or reverb.

Why stop at a pencil?
Yeh i get your point. I've only exposed my self to a few of his videos so I guess I missed the homogeneity.
Thanks for the dirt pedal tips. I really dont like the mid hump of the majority of pedals ive tried.
