How "heavy" is your heavy rock exactly?
Since you have an AX8 I'd get something with a decent fx loop so you have the option of running 4CM if you want to.

Not that heavy at all really. The heaviest would be Cult of Personality but yeah it would be handy to use the amp as a stage backline with the AX8 too.godgrinder wrote:How "heavy" is your heavy rock exactly?

If not not dead set on a combo, I think my Blankenship would be great. Does anything from nice cleans well into hard rock territory- https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listin ... 1652080484
Might even be interested in doing a trade towards the JP12.

Re: Help me dither: Amps
That does look badass and from all accounts from previous owners here, sounds great. Only patches I use on the AX8 is a JCM800 or Friedman too. Might jus be a bit more than I need... I’d have to pick a cab up as well.chrisbower wrote:If not not dead set on a combo, I think my Blankenship would be great. Might even be possible in doing a trade towards the JP12.

I guess the Marshall DSL40C should work for you, or maybe the new DSL20CR if you want lighter than that.StratMatt wrote: Not that heavy at all really. The heaviest would be Cult of Personality but yeah it would be handy to use the amp as a stage backline with the AX8 too.

Re: Help me dither: Amps
Cheers for the replies. Had a good look at whats around but I don't think it will ever get any "real" use, whatever it is. I think my best bet is to get a 1 or 2x12 Mesa cab, Matrix power amp and a Sansamp pedal for if anything goes tits up. I like the look of the Friedman ASM speakers, but they're not cheap. At least with a cab I can use it with an amp if I ever feel the need. There, dither done.
