I think it started with electronics and computer gear when locally-based online stores started competing directly with international stores. It's been a thing in computer hardware for a few years at least - since nearly everything is bought online anyway.

The 50 isn't what I'd call quiet I run mine on 0.5W, master on full, and channel volume to suit, past half on the channel vol and you're getting rowdy levels of volume!

yeah mines 100w.I ran mine on.5w at home and loved it.Took it to practice and BLEEEHHHGGGG.open back cab syndrome. I dont want to ruin its near new condition by installing one of my agricultural work-arounds. Never trust a tradesman with missing fingers.

What is open back cab syndrome? Ive been thinking about a Katana so I can have the same tones for practice and when playing with others.

open back cabs lack ...punch.Im a metal guy so need a bit more focus,and not a bunch of spill the opposite way.

Might bite the bullet on a katana - 50W for $380 is hard to say no to.

I was probably leaning toward the 50 over the 100 anyway, but it's a bit disappointing that the 100W 12x1 combo's seem to have sold out online just in time for the sale
