Just bought a Helix LT - any users here?

Post by Slimo »

Made the leap of faith away from my lovely Egnater Rebel 20 to the Helix LT...mainly for versatility, portability, and a new toy to play with :mental:

Any other Helix users here? Want to share some of your favourite setups, IRs?

OG helix user here. Doubt I have much to share other than ownhammer just freebie'd some Mesa 4x12 cab IRs. Also worth grabbing the Line6/65amps IRs from the Line6 site.

I don't even have my head around a basic build properly yet, so can't really help...other than to say the Line6 default settings can all sound way better with IRs, even changed cabs and mics.

major fan here! My best advice is to treat it as if it actually is some stomps, an amp, a cab, a mic and some studio Fx, monitored through studio monitors.
Simply put the pedals you like in front of an amp you like etc etc.

The stock cabs are actually fine - but just as you would in the studio, you may need to cut the bass and tops.

Start simple...a tube screamer, a plexi and a 4 x 12 if you want rock tones...maybe the Archon for a more modern sound.
Play with the settings exactly as you would the real amp...
its worth it!
