Yeah I'd have to sell my reverb or a few pedals to justify the purchase, so I'm trying to figure out which ones it could replace.Cdog wrote:Basically this. The RV6 has some great sounding digital reverbs so if the MS3 is the same algos I'd be very tempted!

Anyone know if there is a way to duplicate or copy and paste patches? I know you can move them but that overwrites the old patch with the one in the spot you moved it to.
I'm pretty keen to set up some duplicate patches with different eq's for different guitars.

Yep!
So say (like me) you want a clean patch to be footswitch 1 of every bank.
All you do is go to Bank 1 Patch 1, hit "Write", then choose the target as Bank 2 Patch 1, and hit write again. Can rinse and repeat and just change the target to whatever you want.
Super easy! In fact its a godsend for me cause, as I'm using it for bass, all my patches start with the same base (compressor) so its an easy way to keep settings consistent.

The Reverbs are absolutely the same quality as RV6. All of our latest FX algorithms are contained within the MS3. In many ways, it is our flagship FX processor.Cdog wrote:Basically this. Re: Boss MS-3 Multi Effects Switcher Megathread
A few questions on this if you'd all be so kind to answer....
- Is there a slow gear volume swell tucked away in there? Or reverse delay vol swell?
- How do you know the effects on 1 thru 4 on any given bank? That is, for the Line 6 you have a glowing colour to let you know what might lie beneath your tap, on different banks...to remind oneself.
- Does it have a power out to power the external pedals you might run?
Thanks!

Yes, there is a Slow gear effect. Reverse Delay also.GrantB wrote:A few questions on this if you'd all be so kind to answer....

I assume you're talking about in MANUAL mode? (In MEMORY mode, buttons 1-4 simply go between presets)GrantB wrote:- How do you know the effects on 1 thru 4 on any given bank? In MANUAL mode, the LCD display will show which FX are assigned to switches 1-4
Nope.GrantB wrote:- Does it have a power out to power the external pedals you might run?

Re: Boss MS-3 Multi Effects Switcher Megathread
Hey Matt, do you know much about the "Live Set" functionality in the editor?
Its confused me a bit, as when you drag the patches into the set they're now no longer named after which slot (ie 1-2, 2-4 etc) but now just numbered from 1 to whatever. How should I use this function?

Mmmmm. Depends. A lot of people are attracted by the size of the MS-3. DC outlets would make it appreciably larger.GrantB wrote:Good idea though huh!handsoffmatt wrote:Nope.GrantB wrote:- Does it have a power out to power the external pedals you might run?
The PSB power supply that ships with the MS3 is capable of running MANY pedals - so a daisy chain would be all you need...
