So, as I'm in Oz at the moment am I likely to find this boxed set already available in Perth or Brisbane? It'd be a nice souvineer.

Re: New BOSS Products coming....
Yeah. Whilst they are fully functioning pedals, they are built more for the collector than the player.jeremyb wrote:$899 US or something mad tho'?
They've been specially hand-produced in Japan with the aim of being as completely accurate to the originals as possible. (2 small exceptions...these will run on a modern PSA power adaptor, and the LED light functions as per a modern BOSS pedal (the originals merely flashed the LED when the pedal was depressed - the LED didn't stay on when the effect was running)).
Even the actual pedal enclosures themselves aren't regular BOSS Boxes. They are a special run designed to be the same as the very first ones that rolled off the line in 1977 - which have some minor changes compared to modern boxes.
So yeah. Very pricey, but we're standing behind it. They are super cool.
The interesting part is, if you were to believe that social media represents the real world, then judging by the comments on our Facebook pages over this product, you'd think we've made a huge mistake with pricing. In reality, the pre-orders have been going VERY well indeed. It seems that the subset of people we have aimed this product towards are keeping their comments to themselves and just buying them...
Pricing in Australia is AU$1,399. Not 100% certain what NZ will be till they get closer.
NZ Rockshop will be receiving only a VERY limited quantity of these for sale.

Re: New BOSS Products coming....
Another new BOSS product yesterday!!
https://www.boss.info/au/products/ad-10/
This one is close to me for a couple of reasons:
1) It's the product I've been hoping for for about 8 years
2) I had some direct input into it's design.
Needless to say it'll be going onto my acoustic board to replace a bunch of stuff there

Re: New BOSS Products coming....
yeah, its still old tech though. they've basically not improved their midi/digital algorithms for years. Much of this will just rely on using the gk pickup as a 'piezo a string' input, the usual GK synth stuff is still glitchy and a bit shit compared to fishman.Terexgeek wrote:Boss has been busy:

So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Good to know. I was intrigued by Paul Reed Smith talking about a string detection system he was part of developing that hasn't made it to a production guitar synth yet but is being researched for use on medical imaging.Bg wrote:yeah, its still old tech though. they've basically not improved their midi/digital algorithms for years. Re: New BOSS Products coming....
be nice to see. The v-guitar stuff just uses the same old one piezo a string though and its halfway decent. But having owned most iterations of their guitar synth stuff, fishman blew them out of the water just for response and lack of glitchiness. Its not perfect but its way better.
