NSRD: Extra beige

Post by bender »

Spotted this bad boy in the K'Road Rockshop for a great price (it's second-hand) and figured it's such an essential part of the Surf sound that I had to have it.

The reverb needs taller feet so it can clear the humongous handle on my amp, but for gigs, it'll be on the floor so I can tilt the amp back (and occasionally kick it).

The stock tank wasn't great, so I grabbed a Mod tank from Clarry and now it's drippier than a dungeon in a pirate movie. Much nicer than a built-in reverb.

I have a Catalinbread Topanga Reverb pedal too, and now being ale to compare the two was really interesting. The Topanga goes a long way towards capturing the sound of one of these, but there's really no substitute for the real thing.

I have not ever heard one of these big reverbs but; they look so cool, how could anyone resist!

Very nice, great find !! There's been one that's been cropping up on TM for a while now, guy was wanting a shade under $2k.

I always have that problem with the handles too lol, I normally end up just taking them off 8)

Yeah, that's probably a fairish price given that it's a genuine WOWRARECOLLECTIBLE!!1! 60s one.
