Hello all,
Just wondering where those of you who roll-your-own cables (ha… har ) get the necessary bits & pieces?
More interested in cable recommendations than connectors (have found Mouser to be pretty helpful in that respect)…
Cheers for any help
Sam

Re: DIY Cables
I use Canare GS-6 for patch cables and Mogami cable for instrument leads. There are actually heaps of good options but I just happen to have stocked up on those ones.
Ryan at Ampshop.co.nz is good for this kind of stuff.

Re: DIY Cables
Have some made from Audioquest interconnect cable but that would be insanely expensive to do retail.
Don't know if you can still get it but Pudney made a bulk wire for Turntable interconnects. It was 2 strands of coax with an earth between them. You could buy a length, peel it in two and strip off the earth. You ended up with 2 leads and a heap of control cavity wire for the cost of one length. Absolute win, not too expensive and way better quality than many conventional guitar cables. Switchcraft or G&H plugs and you're set.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: DIY Cables
Guitar cable has a high conductive graphite jacket also needs to be very low capacitance just because you get sound out doesn't mean its workingSlowy wrote:Have some made from Audioquest interconnect cable but that would be insanely expensive to do retail.
