So does the John Cruz stamp make it not a mere Custom Shop, but a Masterbuilt?
I think 2001 predates the Masterbuilt thing. I suspect that's just a way of adding another, expensive, layer to the hierarchy. Bit like PRS which goes: Foreign Jonny, US Standard, Bit Posh, Private Stock, Paul's Special Reserve, Made from The Queen Mother's wooden teeth.

Can't go wrong with Fender CS. They really are the best Fenders money can buy and easily go toe to toe with the smaller builders that people like to froth over.
Cheers Matt. I've had at least one that was a bit 'fnaaaaa....' but it probably didn't help that I'd painted it about six times... I'd have this one over my Nocaster (not apples with apples admittedly - more that I just prefer Strats) but I'd still love another Nocaster at some point.
Where abouts is the stamp Brian. Mine has ' English' in the trem cavity and ' Pallares' on the neck cavity.

They typically have the word RELIC stamped in three places on the body and once on the neck (even if they're not a 'distressed' model) and the model stamped in the neck pickup recess. On the neck heel and neck pocket on the body there are usually a couple of inked stamps from the people involved in making it. I don't think they mean much. I had an Art Esparza stamped one. He's made guitars for Clapton blah blha blah but it din't make any difference to the value. It was just another guitar from a typical working day.

Yep they certainly pump them out. I guess it's finding one you gel with eventually. I do like the necks that feel even and don't loose it when you get higher. Yours looks the part and would most probably sound exceptional through the Tamerlane.
