Yeah, that seems like a fair summary. The unfortunate thing is that they remind me of a woman wearing a shitload of make-up, or a kitchen that has clearly been decorated by picking the most expensive item out of all of the plumbing and appliance catalogues.
slowfingers wrote:This one looks like the airbrusher at Ibanez forgot to stop, but it's actually woodgrain; carefully hand stained in multiple colours. That's sheer class!
It's a lot of things, but class isn't one of them. It's an utterly exceptional example of this kind of figuring/finishing though.

Definitely

I don't at all, but I do admire it.

I've played Conway's PRS and as well finished as it is, and as resonant as it is, I've played far better and far more fun instruments. No offense Conway, horses for courses and all that.

Just seems unnecessarily excessive to me. It's almost more ornament than instrument. Maybe I'm boring, but I love their guitars in either plain 'ol white or black.

I think the sexiest one I've seen was black with maple faux binding and a mahogany back. The gloss of the black really showed off the curves. It was seriously hot.

Absolutely! And just like Pink Floyd, that's what I like about it. :sarc: It's just nuts; nobody who thought rationally or worked to a budget would ever think it sensible. That's what I love about the super wealthy; they can afford ridiculous flights of fancy and the rest of us get to go along for the ride.

Still think it's cool.

Um...OK, I stand corrected.

It reminds me of the Samick superstrat I bought in 1994... I can't decide if that's bad or good.

Fuck it. If I cover the fretboard, I actually rather like it. There's something spectacularly psychedelic/tye-dye about it. I'll go stand in the corner.

This "Northern Lights" Private Stock was spec'ed by the same US dealer who did mine. And it looks like he's just sold it. I prefer the "Sub Zero Glow" finish on mine. I'm not a huge fan of the maple fretboard with the tinting finish running up it.

Having said that, I realise that I do have another guitar with a tinted maple fretboard.

But it's steel grey to match the steel body of the Trussart.

Apart from teh fretboard (which is just too much IMO) I think that looks rad.
