Godin 5th Avenue Uptown - thoughts?
http://www.rockshop.co.nz/shop/guitars/ ... 35182.html
Want to go play one of these but I'm so bloody time-poor at the moment - anyone own or play one? Thoughts?
My #1 is a Godin so I'm down with the brand, but wondering if anyone knows much about this gat specifically.
Cheers good people!

That is yum. And the price is enticing.

I had a wee look at one from this series at the Christchurch Rockshop. It's a very classy looking guitar indeed.

Hmmmm... guess I really need to play one. I don't think Rockshops in the Wellington area have any though, which is annoying.
Been up in Auckland the last two days but waaaay too busy with work to pop in.

Have played. Excellent, well made tool without the price premium that comes from some other brands. Godin really have the price/performance ratio nailed.sirvill wrote:Hmmmm... guess I really need to play one. I don't think Rockshops in the Wellington area have any though, which is annoying.

I thought it sounded fine but I really don't know what to do with archtops. I'm uncomfortable with things that expect me to be a grown up.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Resale is basically non existent, but I mean - If you like it, go for it.

Yeah I hear that - my Godin LG-XT, which cost me $3000 new around 2002, would be lucky to get over $1000 as nobody knows about them really.
But yeah, if I like it and I think I'll keep it is not a problem I guess.

I know what an lgx is! They had two variants - sss and hh and I'm pretty sure they had a piezo too. Coil tap on the hh model. Both the ones I saw were blue.
Shot to 11yo me for remembering the hh one

I've tried one of the ones in the OP and thought it was very nice.
