Yamaha sj 500 (fugly or not?)

Post by StrummersOfThunder »

So i have one of these late 70s yamaha super jam guitars coming from Japan.
Made famous by a rhythm and blues guitarist Cornell Dupree.
Maple neck, alder body. Typical yamaha pickups...will have to see how they sound.
Thoughts?
Fugly?
Have I managed to get a tele that has bred with an sg?
Persimmon red...
Anyone wanna have a 'super jam' some time ? (we could wear capes)
Or is super jam what super man has on his toast?

Not at all fugly. And the trussrod adjustor is commonsense brilliance. Win!

A little bit Cabronita and a little bit SG to my eyes. I like it.

Apart from looking like it has been repeatedly dipped in lacquer, as was typical of guitars of the time, it's cool.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.
