Hey kd, I also have an old unusable piece of shit guitar that I'm keen to sell if you like?

Just based on the photos that would actually be worth throwing some coin at to restore if you can get it for nothing.

Project's on indefinite hold while I see if there's a legitimate owner... especially as one of the other discoveries in the cupboard was a a couple of kg of load-your-own gunpowder and 20 kg of lead shot

I think the owner may have left it there on purpose rather than by mistake mate.

Thread dredge.... the Burns is back. Was strolling past the still-ongoing renovation project ( Yes, three years later. I've got a feeling my ex-landlord's organisational skills are not the greatest...), and the burns had been thrown in the skip. So I'm taking that as a sign they don't want it. Free to a good home if anyone's interested. Don't have the time/skills/interest to try and fix this myself. The original description in this thread still stands - pretty much munted in every way a guitar can be munted. Pickup from Wellington preferred, I live in the Northland suburb, but I work in the CBD so we could meet up there some time. If anyone REALLY wants to pay for shippng outside the 04, I could probably arrange something, but honestly I doubt this thing will be playable and not worth it. Happy to answer any questions or provide more pics. Pics don't quite do justice to the cavernous depths of the cracks in the paint, and what looks like a tasteful reflection down near the neck joint is bare wood from a huge chip of missing paint.

Those gigantic body cracks look like fun. Just by the bolt on plate.

There's been some kind of serious wood movement going on here, If I put a ruler flat across the back, I can make it sit flat on one side, but the other side will have about 1 cm gap.

Meet you tomorrow in CBD and pick it up ?
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
