Old "GASius Maximus" strikes again

Post by Kloppsta »

The offer was just too good to pass up I swear! ;-)
I am, undoubtedly....MY OWN WORST ENEMY!

I guess the time has come for shredtastic leads accompanied with all the whammy dive bomb goodness I can handle.

Not knowing ANYTHING about Ibanez guitars made in Japan, are these as good as the reviews say they are? It could be "sales speak" but this is supposed to be the "RG 3120 Prestige" which is "rumoured" to be the cream of the crop RG? Any Ibanez guru's in the house?
You just gotta love the look of them though....so beautiful!

Hmm, i think its just the camera angle. They are "direct mounted" pickups. More sustain.....less plastic ;-)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......... Ibanez prestige 8) The horns on the RGs have always been a bit big and pointy for my tastes, but ... damn! that's sexy 8) It should be every bit as nice as "they" say 8) Gelato just bought a regular non-prestige RG (I forget which model); just ask him how nice he's finding that 8)

How much did that cost you?

It should be pretty sweet, and its certainly near the top of the RG range. Being a Prestige it will probably have the old style laminated neck construction which should help to avoid the Ibanez curse of twisting and then going wobbly at the 1st 2 frets.

It seems to have all its tuner tags attached still, but it is about an early 2002 model, made in the Fuji Gen factory where the Jap Fenders are hacked out.

Pickups should be DiMarzio PAF Pro and Tone Zone.
It would be one of my favourite Ibanez models, but I think an RGT2120 with thru neck and piezo trem instead of the maple top is my ultimate choice.

[quote="ash"] How much did that cost you? quote]

Just over $1k landed.
Come to think of it, not knowing anything about Ibanez, I don't even know if that is a good price?!....but I figured a guitar with those specs if worth a grand, even if I don't know anything about it :)

This is what the "description" said -

"Twilight Blue finish, AAA flamed maple top with natural edge binding, mahogany body, Wizard Prestige neck with pearloid logo, Low Pro Edge tremolo, DiMarzio humbuckers (PAF Pro and Tone Zone), Abalone dot inlays."

Oh true! I should really read things properly before replying! ;-)
Yeah, it looks pretty ugly, but I think most RG's are like that.

Yeah sure, don't want anyone getting lost in the intro now do we.

The only item I think I really want would be a nice marshall stack. Just for the sheer wank factor.
