Watching with interest. Quite interested in one of those single cutaway ones the guy in Dunedin is doing.

Those cutaway tricones are arse, they just don't have the body volume, sacrifice a lot of sound for access. I know you have looked for a while and I am looking to move my Style O 14 fret brass single cone (etched Hawaiian scene) , $300 for you including post and that is with better Stewmac tuners and a maple biscuit and bridge and case.

Some new D'Urbano pickups for my Firebird VII. Always struggled with it being a little dark sounding, these are made by a guy here in Melbourne and are apparently based off '63 FB pups but a tad hotter. Demos sound incredible.

Dunno if I'll like the look of shiny brand new gold pickups against the worn old hardware but I guess I'll learn to live

Surely you can swap the covers off the old ones?

New project coming soon (it’ll last 10 minutes), various guitar parts, no car parts :(
BUT my new guitar is ... I’m going to go and collect it this week.

Oh fuck yes.

firebird pickups are like literally held together by the covers apparently and it's quite a mission to assemble them so don't really want to take the risk.
The stock ones are more likely to be built mini humbucker style so shouldn't be too bad to get off but these new ones are built like vintage firebird pickups so might be a big hassle

Well, waiting for next weekend's delivery, k1w1's resonator at a very Christmas friendly price. Thanks Laurie.

No worries mate, really stoked it is going to a good home. I think you will be happy with the tone and sound as the brass body with single cone is a great sound, swapping for the maple biscuit/saddle was a huge tone improvement. Action is set for slide/fingerpicking.

Big Muff Pi! Always wanted one and now I'll have one!

It's an effect in my Katana, but it pains me to have to go on my computer to fiddle with it and I like to stomp on things

Yep, I run a M13 in front of mine because it's easier to tweak, it's a hassle setting up a sound without the band and then fine tuning it for a mix.

The Katana effects sound great, just a hassle to sort on the fly without a laptop.
