more of a in my workshop, lovely new fretwire courtesy of stewmac in the biggest box ever for a few lengths. Even the string trees were in a huge paper bag within the box.
We're a carbon zero company, I got shakes of the head and tsk tsk when I showed the size of the packaging. Still its all recyclable....

Cool. Can we have whole process documented in Single_Coil-like detail?Bg wrote:more of a in my workshop, lovely new fretwire courtesy of stewmac in the biggest box ever for a few lengths. Even the string trees were in a huge paper bag within the box.

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?
oh didn't I already do that? I'll make sure I do next time...
I did refret 2 of the mans guitars for practice and cos I like the bugger (and because I wanted to see the new headstock), so from that I'd take away, don't buy cheap chinese fret wire - unless you know the size of the tangs. Every fret glued in and a pita for being stainless.
The other, don't buy precut chinese frets, I'm thinking of an unless but I reckon, just don't. They're cut to size with ends under-ground, so the ends need to be glued. And then you may still get a rasping of the fingers....
Other than that I reckon I did a sterling job in the end....

Pssh.
Pile your desk high with cardboard packaging.
Tell everyone you are starting a localised carbon sequestration system as part of the company's corporate social responsibility programme.

Yeah but he would take some coat hangers and beat them into fretwire, rather than lamely buying some!Molly wrote:Cool.
