For some reason I am hankering for a hollow body Gretsch, and I've never managed to shake my love for a PRS with a 5 way even since I passed on one a year or so ago...shouldn't have done that in hindsight.

You should speak to Grant.

Or just buy a bass muff. It's even green.

I hate the concept of "bass" pedals, are they really that different? or just a way to sell more gear? surely at most they might change the eq a bit?

Well that's what they do isn't it? Change the EQ a bit, make sure it doesn't cut too much bass etc, add a blend sometimes, etc.

Every big muff I've had has had a massive low end - putting a guitar through this one seems to yield either less lows or more mids. The gain isn't as mental as some of the later nyc models or the old black russians.
Putting a bass through it magically turns it into a bass pedal. It has a bass boost feature - kind of cool for guitar, but with limited usefulness - as well as a dry/effect out.
I used this feature when it was just me and my small body acoustic.
It made the weeny acoustic sound absolutely huge, so it does that too.

Otherwise it's my one stop fuzz box. Had it for years.

My current GAS list:

Pre-CBS or block+binding Fender Jaguar in sunburst
AV63 Precision bass in Sonic Blue or AV58 Precision bass in Blonde
AV65 Jazzmaster in Olympic White

Also might get a Johnny Marr Jaguar in Black some day, but I've played one before (in white) and wasn't very impressed (it paled in comparison to my AV65). Still, I love black on a Jag.

If you find the AV65 Jazzmaster in Olympic white, will you sell me you're Sherwood Green one?

I don't think I'll ever sell that one. Too hard to find in that colour, plays and sounds too good as well.

Now that I know I have guitar parts in the mail, I can't sit still.
Thursday is the dumbest day to order. Don't do it.

More time in the day. Actually I'm ok with the amount of hours, just not how I have to fill them at the moment.
