Amp Repairs - Central North Island
Hey guys, can anyone recommend a great Amp tech somewhere in the vicinity of Taupo (up to 2 hours travel). I have a Cornford Hellcat (handwired of course), and it's in need of a service, possibly a new set of output valves etc.
Many thanks for any recommendations.

2 hours is a breeze when compared to going to Auckland or Wellington.
I think this is the guy I was told about several years ago . . . I'll look him up and have a chat.
Thanks for your help - hope I can reciprocate sometime.

John Gilmore in Hamilton. I miss our candid amp talks among the uproar of Tronfests gone by.
2024; I have explored the extent of the perimeter dome, there is no escape. I am become Morpheus

Many thanks - I'll lookup John & call later today if I can find his contact details.

Spoke with Waylon in Tauranga today - what an excellent guy. Hoping to see him tomorrow or Monday next week. Seems very knowledgeable about tube amps.

*nod* Hi Happy New Year to you all. Sorry I've been quiet - actually I've become totally reclusive! Hung up the guitar for awhile to focus on electronic music and diving into audio (mixing/mastering etc). The rabbithole was way deeper than I thought and I will never be the same again But I miss the guitar and made a little promise to myself to get back into it proper this year. So I'll be hanging around here more often I hope
So who would be the tube amp goto now for Hamiltonians? Waylon in Tauranga or Ryan in Aux? Anyone closer?

Waylon unless the Gilmore retiring thing is a myth.
