Having gone to digital amps (Yamaha TH100HD) at church I’m liking it but still struggling to get the feel right.
Now I will say the amp actually feels better when running through a cab but we are loading cab sims and going direct with in ears.

I think I have narrowed it down to the fact the amp doesn’t saturate or compress the same. The sound is super clean and punchy but doesn’t feel or sound quite right. If you wind up the gain it saturates better but suddenly all my drive pedals have way to much gain.

I have my Diamond Compressor always on and wound up significantly more than when using my tube amp.

Do I need a more tweakable compressor?
Maybe a midrange pedal (TS or Klon) to give the amp some saturation but with out too much gain?

Looking for a saturated with good sustain clean tone.

I have 3 versions of the Klon. If you expect them to add no gain, you will be disappointed.
That said, the J Rocket Archer Gold would be the closest.

Honestly, it sounds to me like you need a compressed Blackface circuit turned up loud.
Which is probably not what you want to hear.

My 5e3 is great, even when set low and clean it saturates nicely. It’s trying to achieve the same thing through the digital rig that’s causing me some issues.

Pigtronix philosophers tone might get you there better than the diamond, but what I'd be trying is adding a really short analog delay plus a really short digital delay, and seeing how that sounds

Attenuator so you can turn that master up maybe?

Well you might be on to something, but although Christians can be the most judgmental annoying people around, I haven’t found a better solution that doesn’t involve me starting my own thing!
I’m starting to wonder if the whole journey was meant to be learning to get along with people you don’t like or who view things differently to you (mainly talking about other Christians here).....but we had better keep this thread non religious or the moderators will be along shortly.

Might be a stupid question, but is there any reason why it needs to be digital Reg? Sounds like an obvious answer to your issues would be to switch to an amp with some warm glowing glass in it.

Initial the title of your thread threw me.
Never heard of a saturated clean before.
You had be talking about feel & sustain.

Obviously a tube amp with the power section cooking will get you there.
However that bloom pedal seems to be the silver bullet.

The lack of on stage direct speaker to guitar feedback is probably at the heart of this. Are you happy with the unplugged tone? This may sound silly but some guitars seem to bloom their own - some don't.
...and without wanting to start modelling wars - the Fender Deluxe model in the Helix has the qualities you seem to desire.Its one of the most popular models of all and used by many a converted tweed snob.

totally agree and I have using an amp with warm glowing glass for the last 8 years at church however the powers at be have decided that we aren’t alowed (or a loud) amps on stage anymore and invested in digital amps instead of radial sgi boxes meaning basically I need find a way to make this digital rig work and keep my tube amp for home use. I must say listening to the full stereo capabilities of the Timeline and Bigsky in my in ears panned hard left and right is something new and almost worth the compromise.
