Someone on here did this ages ago, copied something like a Diesel VH4 or Uberschall preamp circuit and put it in a pedal. Can't remember exactly what or by who, but remember at the time thinking it was a bloody cool idea.

I watched the Andertons video on this, seems like a cool idea. I guess it's similar to the Randall amps with modular preamps?

defs not a new idea-but to be fair i didnt watch the video.Personally ive been running pre/power for years-mostly to get consistency of tone when away from the band shed using borrowed gear.

Worth watching the video. He's at pains to clarify what it is and isn't.
In another video he's talking about the ability to try different power tubes in some of his amps and goes on to say that you only really notice the difference at volume. So, I could buy a Countess clean-type preamp and effectively be able to footswitch between it and the Kotzen's own preamp. Shouldn't matter too much that the amps themselves have different power tubes.
Demos sound good anyway.

Players gradually moved from amps and pedals to rack systems with preamps and rack effects in the 80s. Then there was a renaissance of the pedals into an amp thing. It looks like things are going into the rack level complexity again, but the difference being that the gear is on the floor instead of in racks. Swings and roundabouts

Tube preamp pedal with an effects loop basically?
Cool idea, maybe a new spin on one that's been around forever. Also I think this seems like one of those products that the moment you try and integrate more pedals with it, it will become 1000% more complicated!

Running a preamp into an FX return is old hat for sure. Downside is it cuts the amp's preamp out of the equation and makes it redundant. May as well just have a poweramp. The quality of the FX loop may affect how good it sounds. This solution lets the player switch between both the preamp and the amp's pre. Handy if you need it.
Not a fan of Victory amps though, at least when the Rob fella plays them. Rob Chapman can make anything sound horrible. He is the opposite of Pete Thorn who can make most things sound awesome.
