Line level valve fx loops
I want to run a H9 in the fx loop of the RM100 but it doesn't have line/instrument level input option. So of course it's clipping like a mofo.
Will putting in a 12au7 or the like get me back down close to instrument level? or nowhere near?
I know i can get a line converter box but then that's another thing in the chain. Is it my only option?

Nope instrument only. They have been called out over this, and basically said tough titties.Kris wrote:can you not change the level on the H9? i know i could on my factor pedals

Re: Line level valve fx loops
Why not run it in front of the amp? Pretty piss poor such an expensive pedal doesn't do line level though...

Re: Line level valve fx loops
Could get something like one of these? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... el-shifter Put it before the H9?
Would probably need one after too, unless the H9 can put out line level (as I imagine the power amp will be expecting line level). EDIT that one has two channels so could go in and out of that.

Re: Line level valve fx loops
Could you use a re-amp box? That gets from line to instrument and then you have it for if you want to reamp stuff when recording?
But that might be suboptimal if your return wants to see line level.

They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

Re: Line level valve fx loops
Yeah that will be the last resort, it would be great to just change the fx loop valve and carry on. The Morley ELC is the one i've had my eye onesirvill wrote:Could get something like one of these? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... el-shifter Put it before the H9?

Re: Line level valve fx loops
I have been swapping phase inverter valve today. Logically that shouldn't effect the power valves but i can't shake the feeling that i should have just left them aloneSingle coil wrote:Mattallica wrote:all of the power valves have died

Thanks fellas. I do have a re-amp box & DI here, but that's back to clogging the chain. Which i will do if i have to, but i'm hoping an amp boffin will tell me about the valve change firstKris wrote:also on the above, ive got 2 of these that might work.Im local too so if you wanted to try em thats all G
