not really... Thomas knows the guy and to me he seems pretty "desperate" to sell quickly so why not use that as more leverage on getting a better deal?mrmofo wrote:strange attitude.willow13 wrote:I still say keep him waiting and he'll drop the prices more

I don't know man, I see it as predatory and mean. the guy is in trouble, he needs help, not exploitation.
anyway, just a thought.

There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Just an update, did just what willow 13 said.. waited for him to drop the prices more haha. I decided to buy all. Buying the Mesa first for a much lower price as it’s good for low volumes. Vox next week and Fender Japan Tweed Champ Reverb in the next few weeks (next pay check). The fender tweed champ is nice and simple, warm with a reverb. How often can you find a 5w tweed champ with a reverb as well as treble and bass control? I also fell in love with the Vox... soo...
Yes
For my case, it’s nice to hear everyone’s opinion. They all have good taste and all the amps are great to me. I’ve also been never disappointed with people’s opinions tbh especially from NZG. I have played all the amps mentioned above but I still couldn’t decide as they all sounded really good to me haha.null_pointer wrote:this x100000.Mini Forklift Ⓥ wrote:That AC15 seems like a really good buy.
But TBH, amps are such personal things and everyone wants different things from them - go with what you gut is telling you as ultimately that's probably going to be the best decision for you.
Never listen to people who tell you X amp is the greatest, unless you like the same types of sounds they do. I went through a ridiculous amount of cool amps for several years before realising that I was basing buying decisions on the recommendations of people who were after something totally different that I was. Part of the trick is working out what you are actually after (do you like chime? Snarl? Thick swirly goodness? Warm edge of break up?), then going from there. In the end I wanted a great warm pedal platform, so buying amps with great amp OD was a pointless waste of time for me as I used pedals off the clean and their strength never saw the light of day. And as great as Joey Landreth makes old 50s circuits sound, I don't play blues and roots music, so no point having a great tweed stack for example.
All three of those amps have a place, and different people will think different ones are better, but unless your ears line up with theirs you'll be disappointed.

Re: 3 Amp Choices. Help.
Heh the proof is in what is still in your possession in a years' time getting played. I love the sound of tweeds, but I don't play the sound of tweeds (if that makes sense). So day one I'd be sitting there going 'damn!', and 2 gigs later I'd be realising it wasn't useful to me (despite sounding great).
The Princeton Reverbs are a good example of this. I've had 3 (well, 2, one of them twice), and they are such a great clean tone. But when used as I intend (hitting the nose with overdrives etc, and at a reasonable volume), they flub out, making them not suitable (despite their tone).
At least you won't have any issue getting at least your money back when you slim down the herd!

Re: 3 Amp Choices. Help.
well well ... it appears my strategy was spot on...the guy got way more money than he was expecting (yes he now is down 3 amps but he could not have been to attached to any of them to let all 3 go) and Thomas now has 3 amps, 2 of which he can now "play forward" to some one here
really don't care that some found my attitude towards it "predatory" because in this case everyone got more than they wanted
