Torpedo Captor
What’s the verdict? Who’s got them and what do you think?
Is there anyway to have more than 1 cab sim live?
Anyone selling one?

Have one, it’s great. More than one cab sim live? I guess there’s a way if you have an epsi or similar. Or if you lug the laptop with the wall of sound plugin, and an interface (seems a bit convoluted!)

Do you mean running more than one at once? or changing one on the fly?Is there anyway to have more than 1 cab sim live?

I mean having different ones available live, from what I read it only comes with 1 analog one built in.Mattallica wrote:Do you mean running more than one at once? or changing one on the fly?Is there anyway to have more than 1 cab sim live?

That's why you need to buy the AMT Pangaea to run with the CaptorReg18 wrote:I mean having different ones available live, from what I read it only comes with 1 analog one built in.Mattallica wrote:Do you mean running more than one at once? or changing one on the fly?Is there anyway to have more than 1 cab sim live?

Still doesn’t solve the amp load issue though.Mattallica wrote:That's why you need to buy the AMT Pangaea to run with the CaptorReg18 wrote:I mean having different ones available live, from what I read it only comes with 1 analog one built in.Mattallica wrote:

If I could find a cheap solution for an amp load box I might buy your AMT! Because essentially the captor is only really acting as a load box if I need to buy another box to load IRs to use live, although I know it does more than that but I’m not using it for recording.

Eh? It's just meant to be used as a load box. The onboard analog cab is just an extra feature they threw in. It was never intended to be a cheaper version of what they already make with the Live and Studio.Reg18 wrote:Still doesn’t solve the amp load issue though.Mattallica wrote:That's why you need to buy the AMT Pangaea to run with the CaptorReg18 wrote:

What's your definition of cheap?
Do you need to have a load box or attenuation when you're playing live? if not then you don't need the Captor, just aPangaea or similar.

Maybe my expectations are too high for what I want.Mattallica wrote:Eh? It's just meant to be used as a load box. The onboard analog cab is just an extra feature they threw in. I’m hoping to play silantly but with my own amp and wanting a choice of cab IRs Live.
But there are other options for load boxes, like a lot of attenuators could probably do that job also.

Re: Torpedo Captor
I got a captor a few months ago, good for what it is, which is more of a recording tool in my opinion. Sounds like the Torpedo Live would be a better bet, or a Captor plus something else for Cabs, as said above the Cab sim on the Captor is designed more as an added bonus more than as an actual feature, I havent even tried it out as I just use Wall of Sound in reaper.

Re: Torpedo Captor
Found this which is heaps cheaper.
It’s an attenuator with 1 Cab sim built in as well.
I’m not sure but I assume I could hook up a seperate cab sim like the AMT or Mooer Radar between this and my amp?

Re: Torpedo Captor
Yep, I use an AMT between my amp head and a Bad Cat load. My load is reactive vs resistive, but if you want cheap cant see a prob with the Bugera.Reg18 wrote:Found this which is heaps cheaper.
