This is true... Dumble 2020 anyone?
I'll let you know when i get around to it Andrew. I think my Top Boost has deeper problems. It started out sounding good despite not sounding like a Vox. Now it just sounds shit at any setting.werdna wrote:Matt, if you figure out a way of fixing the Top Boost, I'd pay you to do mine.
Also, my Brown is too compressed sounding, way too compressed.
The Tweed is a bit too compressed too. Maybe it's because I am putting it all through a Recto sealed cab?
I'm still in the process of getting my head around the pcb layouts and which parts are which. Your Dreadplate would be a great reference point for modding the Treadplate/Recto.moliere wrote:Replying so I remember to track this thread. Really interested in any mods people are doing. Currently running an RM100 with these modules available - Randall Clean, Randall Recto, Randall SL+, Randall Blackface, Jaded Faith Mark X, Salvation Mods JJ Dirt, Salvation Mods Dreadplate, Salvation Mods Legend. Been thinking about a change to the Synergy stuff, but not really playing enough at the moment to warrant it.
Auckland. Where are you, Moliere?moliere wrote:yeah you could borrow my sl+ , where are you based?
What a coincidence, i found that page yesterday and i was going to pm you. Are you going to have a crack at it yourself?werdna wrote:Re fixing Top Boost, the fix is described here: http://www.grailtone.com/guitar-tone-ar ... tions.html
Very kind offer but am loath to put you to the trouble. I'll try to glean what I can from Youtube and the Grailtone forum first, and maybe I won't need to hear it in person.moliere wrote:Wellington. could ship it, shouldn't cost more than 5$

The brown/SL+ switch should be straight forward. The tweed/deluxe will need a bit more though, as the PCB layouts are different.werdna wrote:Am thinking of modding my Tweed so that it is switchable between a Deluxe circuit and the Tweed circuit. May mod the Brown so that it switches to SL+. Definitely mod the Blackface to remedy the sound break up that troubles the early units, so that it is cleaner. Also am going to mod the Top Boost so that it is less gainy.
I guess Clarry is the man to do this work. Ryan is out of the picture.
