The going rate on ebay is about $100 US, so I agree that this price is not market.

I now have a Randall 1086 but too lazy to post a photo...

Initial impressions are very, very good. To my surprise it sounds as good as the Synergy BE module. The voicings are slightly different. Both have the same gain range (including the switching on the 1086). BE eq has a wider range. The 1086 is actually the quieter one with the gain maxed out.

Disturbed is the last thing that comes to mind when playing this module tbh.

...swap the BE for your VH4 GG? :shifty:

Not the biggest fan of BE100 haha. Didn't like it when I first tried it a few years back, gave it a few more chances over the years and just further confirmed that I really don't like it. Treble is too smooth and the mid voicing sounds a bit weird to me.
Amps:
Soldano SLO100 x2 | Wizard MC1 & MC2 | Diezel Herbert
Fryette Pittbull CL | Marshall 2203KK | Krank Rev 50 | Mesa Mark 2A

Rack stuff:
VHT/Fryette GP3, GP/DI & 2/90/2 | Peters FSM/Chimera
Verellen Meatsmoke | Synergy SYN1 | Mesa Studio

I agree with the mid voicing. Now that I've had it side by side with the 1086, the 1086 sounds "right" to me. The BE100 also has a slight shift in the percussive sound which to me is weird too

Just realised that there's still no proper "metal" demo for the VH4 module so I made one.

That's more refined and less hairy than I was expecting. Were those the max volume settings before clipping?

I could've made it louder but I usually try to use limiter a bit more sparingly when mastering gear demos...

wowser the internal Cab DI sounds great - less "muddy" than the actual power amp and cab - super clear

Yeah the cab sim is surprisingly usable despite being an analog filter type. That power amp and speaker combination were chosen to match the huge bass response on actual Diezel amps.

It is a life-changing experience, albeit an expensive one.

Still waiting on the Dumble Synergy module. There have been small written updates on their facebook page but no progress pics. Sigh.

I have since acquired a Treadplate and an XTC module. Both stock. Treadplate is alright for slow chugging. XTC is very underwhelming, am disappointed. It sounds like an inferior version of the 1086. I tried a valve swap and no noticeable improvement.

Here are my plans for some homebrew mods:

.Modern -> Orange Rockerverb

.XTC -> Laney Ironheart

.Ultra Lead -> Peavey 5150/6505

.Treadplate -> More Recto like

I pinched the 5751 out of the Top Boost and put it in the JTM.. great result! Something is wrong with the Top Boost, needs seeing to.

Has anyone on here had a go at modding the modules? Oleg and the Top Boost module etc.

Considering how long it took them to get the first batch of products out, I'm not holding my breath on the 2nd batch.
