Bit more DIY Beam Blocker
Been a few DIY threads recently so thought I'd do one.
I start off with the base from two pineapple tins. Note I leave the lip on the base of the can by using the tin opener on the outer edge of the rim. Keep one of the tins as it will be very useful later.
I picked these metal strips up from Mitre10 for $1.50 each. Some matt black paint too.

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Re: Bit more DIY
Cut the metal strips down to 320mm and pop rivet the tin bases in the centre of them.
Use the empty can to cut some foam into circular pads. I can't believe how well this worked, just twist the can from side to side and slices right through.

Re: Bit more DIY
I put 2 strips of duct tape across each of the THD speakers as a proof of concept. Worked so well, they're still there 5 years later.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Re: Bit more DIY
The THD cab has laser beam projection. You could walk into it and the highs would knock you over. I was going to build beam blockers like Badger and as I said, I put some tape across to see if it made a difference. Worked so well I never got any further.
They'd probably be good on closed back quads.
