Re: Transformer winding in NZ
Just to follow up on this thread, I've now sent a couple output transformers to Brian Smith in Foxton and they were under $150 each, including shipping each way. He even re-varnishes them so they hold out against rust/moisture. He's definitely the guy to use. I spoke to him on the phone and he mentioned that he usually does rewinds for valve radio enthusiasts who import 120VAC sets from N America, so power transformers wouldn't be an issue for him either.

Would this chap be able to 'copy' the Redfern Radio transformers in the Jansen 4/12?RectifiedAmps wrote:Just to follow up on this thread, I've now sent a couple output transformers to Brian Smith in Foxton and they were under $150 each, including shipping each way. When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Re: Transformer winding in NZ
Brian has a lot of transformer specs.
He recently made me a PT for a Gunn 100 using a transformer I had kicking around for the
lamination stack.
He also said he could build me pairs of Gunn spec transformers for the 200 watt amps I plan to build.

And received, thank you. Some minor differences between your chassis photo and the one I took. Are you okay for me posting the two side by side?Anvil Amps Alan wrote:jvpp wrote:Thanks, could you please provide me with his contact details?Anvil Amps Alan wrote:Brian has a lot of transformer specs.
