Best headphone/iPad practice amp situation

Post by StrummersOfThunder »

So given that I Almost have an electric guitar now , I have two options.
1. Run a lead over the Tasman, get my vox faced due west and turn the master above mid day.
2. Find some sort of headphone iPad amp/effects thing that is half decent. Needs a good reverb effect of course...
I know there is Irig which I treied a few years back and didn't really like. May be better now.
Anything else people would recommend ?

I've got one of them line 6 pod studio/toneport GX's, the very basic one with just a guitar in and headphones out. Does the trick alright before i upgraded to a better interface with more ins and bias. $50 + post if youre keen.

I did 2 months with headphones (OD into joyo american sound into focusrite) I decided sweaty ear fatigue was not for me and bought a blackstar fly 3 stereo. Run an OD into it and I can practice without annoying anyone else. Headphones still an option if necessary. Line in for jamming along.

yep, +1 for the Fly3 option.

Give it a go and keep your eyes open for some sort of deal. Got one for the kid and nabbed it myself for some low volume practice and loved it - doubles as a nice stereo speaker combo for the laptop and office computer.
