Yeah, felt overpriced to me too. Was considering making a cheeky offer since he's relisted it a few times. I don't reckon that's overpriced myself. That was made by a member here (Tubeswell) and will be an absolutely top-notch build. You're always going to struggle to sell something like this on, but it will give all but the very best 5E3 clones a run for their money IMO.Pastasauce wrote:Yeah, felt overpriced to me too. I actually reckon it's a pretty cool choice for a 5E3. The Soldano (Eminence) X12000 (or whatever it's called) is a pretty dark speaker and would smooth a 5E3 out in a lovely way, I would guess.Pastasauce wrote:Soldano speaker seems like an odd choice?

Interesting... I have a pair of these in a closed 2x12 cab. They sound great in closed back cabs though.

Yeah, not for me. It sounded fine, for what it was, and 13 year old me would've thought it was a big step above my Ashton and Zoom 505 combo. But it didn't blow me away, and it made me realise that what I want is one great sound from an amp, to modify with pedals. So, yay, clarity, at least.
