Getting back in the game

Post by Pastasauce »

I've been ampless for this year after selling my old JCM800 back to Danny. Now, my tax return is due and I want to get back in the game. My budget will be around $1k.

I'm pretty open on what to get. My only requirements are that it be fairly portable and under 20w-ish.

I've got the usuals on my watchlist... Blues Jrs, Vox AC10/15's etc. I'm open to modellers too - and I've been seeing lots of threads about this Boss Katana thing.

What should I go for?

I think the Katana is a no brainer for you.....valve amp feel with built in effects, wattage adjustment for home use and recordable  ... go on, join the KOC  (I'm serious to)

Whatever you do, don't fall for the Katana hype.

Well if it is "hype" at the price point who really cares? Far better than spending $2.5K plus for something like a kemper ...again its a no brainer really

Welcome back...

I'd love to sell you my Mea Electra Dyne or Laney Lionheart 2x12 but a Katana 100W Combo will be perfect for you.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Yup, bang for your buck you can't beat them, $450 for a 50W amp with effects that sounds fantastic is crazy good!
