YO! WHATS BUZZIN BRO!?
I need help.
Its not my guitars wired wrong, something weird is happening that I havn't experienced before.
Amp is buzzing off the hook even when gain is not employed. When it is, it drowns out the level of the guitar. For some reason, The the buzz is really loud but I ground it when I hold the leads jacket. I've never had this with an amp before. It wasnt doing this last week. I am wondering if its the home wiring causing interference but, like I said, wasn't doing this last week so wondering if its the amp. It has been plugged into a surge protected board too. I haven't had a chance to really put the amp through its paces either so yeah.
It has to be a simple answer but its new to me and while I've worked with ground loops and hum in the past, I cant figure this one out.
Omg Lotso hum *(layers of the shit)

waay less hum

It hums with no gain also. It appears to be picking up all types on interference. Like I could touch a PSU and it would change the hum so I unplugged everything except the amp.... still there.
GRRRRRR
Help

Re: YO! WHATS BUZZIN BRO!?
maybe the force is strong with you today
different cable, different guitar and still hum, then its the amp. No other amp to plug into so you can confirm? Can also try taking the amp to another part of the house where there may not be a ground loop or interference.

Same in every plug socket? Different power lead? Just thinkin' about ways to narrow it down.
One house I lived in my amps would be noisy in the kitchen. Think it was the strip lights.

Yeah Fluro lights are notorious for that, especially with the addition of single coils
I'll try another power cable. Have tried different sockets but still in the same room so I'll try elsewhere also.

Have you moved into the Michael Fowler centre?

Sound like maybe the amp (or part of it) isn't grounded anymore...
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

is that a quick connect planet waves cable?
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Check your pre-amp valves.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
