Re: The AC10 Gas Thread
Yeah these look pretty cool. I'm keen for something like this; simple, portable and not a hassle to whip out at home (ib;jb) for a blast. Good for jamming in the lounge or a mates garage.
Loving it so far

If it's anything like my AC15 then a tube swap makes them sound even sweeter

Re: The AC10 Gas Thread
I tried one a while ago. I really liked it. Would have bought one if I hadn't picked up a used AC4.

Re: The AC10 Gas Thread
What are the differences between the AC10 and the AC15? Tonally I'm guessing they're in much the same ballpark, is it simply having a little more headroom?

Lol. So aside from that, my perception is that generally people seem to gush over the AC10 more than the AC15 and I don't know why. That statement was completely non-sexual btw.hamo wrote:About 5w...Mini Forklift Ⓥ wrote:What are the differences between the AC10 and the AC15? Clearly new to the party? No comment is ever non-sexual in a JB thread....Mini Forklift Ⓥ wrote:Lol. Re: The AC10 Gas Thread
Tonally quite a lot i think. You lose a bit of the Vox "chime" but i think its more versatile. The gain control is very reactive and it has quite a full breakup after about halfway. Handles pedals better (particularly fuzzes, which iv never liked in Vox amps). Less headroom. A lot quieter. Tighter sounding.Mini Forklift Ⓥ wrote:What are the differences between the AC10 and the AC15? Tonally I'm guessing they're in much the same ballpark, is it simply having a little more headroom?

Re: The AC10 Gas Thread
AC15 has a 12" greenback, tremolo, spring reverb tank, two inputs (normal and top boost), open back cabinetMini Forklift Ⓥ wrote:What are the differences between the AC10 and the AC15? Tonally I'm guessing they're in much the same ballpark, is it simply having a little more headroom?
AC10 basically the same circuit but a resistor changed to make it 10W (apparently), 10" celestion VX10, no trem, digital reverb, single input (top boost), closed back cabinet
