In that case might as well just run the pedal straight into your interface. Otherwise it's a really cluttered and semi-expensive setup (pedal - amp - loadbox), yet it won't bring you much improvement compared to just running a pedal.

The whole loadbox thing sounds good on paper but I don't find it necessarily being superior than running a tube preamp into IR in actual applications.
Amps:
Soldano SLO100 x2 | Wizard MC1 & MC2 | Diezel Herbert
Fryette Pittbull CL | Marshall 2203KK | Krank Rev 50 | Mesa Mark 2A

Rack stuff:
VHT/Fryette GP3, GP/DI & 2/90/2 | Peters FSM/Chimera
Verellen Meatsmoke | Synergy SYN1 | Mesa Studio

You don't really want to dime an high gain amp. Power amp overdrive brings flub and that's the last thing you want in a high gain application. You'd want the power amp to stay clean.
you need to take in this statement....you are losing the tightness with the jet city because you are "diming" it. Record it a low volume and "dime" the mic level (condenser mic is great for this, just have to watch getting into a harshness territory)

I gave up trying to record "live" at tones at home. I just use podfarm..much easier

Could build one fairly cheaply if you already have mics and stands etc, but there is a bit of design involved in order to let the speaker move air naturally in such an enclosed space and get acoustics right etc. Also can not add a room mic, which is a common technique used to open up recorded guitar amp sounds. I have heard a Silent Sister in operation. Not so silent. Much quieter than the amp is usually, but you can still hear it as loud as a TV or something. Lots of hassle. Could work, but may not and may not be consistent either. I sometimes dream of having a big barn with no neighbours with a 100 Plexi at one end of it. Hit an open chord and just let it ring out. I saw a vid of an 80s player named George lynch who did similar. Had a little cabin in a desert valley and his cab outside where it echoed for miles. Awesome fun.

Would be a loud one watt tho. 2x12 with a couple of 20 watt Celestions maybe

A bit of a gamble in other words. I still like the idea of a load box.. or maybe just blow off the farm jobs and mike up during the day.
