Buying direct from Kemper + loss or damage during shipping
Hey folks, I'm looking seriously at getting a Kemper and the best way to go seems to be to buy direct from their store. I've never imported anything this expensive before so was wondering whether, should the worst happen, it is very difficult to get anyone to take responsibility? What are your experiences with tracking down goods lost in transit from overseas?

I purchased mine directly from Kemper. I was getting worried at one point because the shipping took forever, but no issues in the end. I also had an issue where they appeared to have charged me twice. I didn't have much luck with their customer service but eventually the bank sorted it out.

Good question. We lost some gifts over Christmas. Have to chalk it up to experience. And the Strat I brought in last year had just $200 ish insurance. Wouldn't do it again. Not without full cover.

I didn't. It was just the tiny bit that UPS or whoever it was included with the shipping cost. Wasn't anything like enough to cover it.Basket Case wrote:How did you go about getting insurance?Molly wrote:Good question. We lost some gifts over Christmas. Have to chalk it up to experience. In future I'd make sure liability was clarified before buying. In the case of the Kemper you'd want them to send it tracked and if it's not successfully delivered then they'd have to be liable. Not sure they'd be willing to do that though. I know as I private seller I wouldn't be.

Yeah, that's an option I was thinking of too. I'm all about supporting local stores etc, but Musicworks are just taking the piss with their pricing. Plus, they never have them in stock anywayphilly wrote:i got mine from andertons.. bought loadsa stuff from them

Don't think Rockshop carry Kemper but just FYI when I got a really good price on a Marshall from Andertons recently, I approached Rockshop and asked if they could beat it. They did! So, I'd get to buy local, get my warranty, and wouldn't have the stress of shipping / Customs etc.
