Peavey Invective 120

Post by jeremyb »

Misha Mansoor from Periphery has got a signature amp now, sounds pretty decent!

Looks like they've packed a lot into that amp. The ability to supply power to a few pedals off the amp is a great idea. I really like Misha, just can't seem to get into his music.
Loving it so far

When it gets to the point where there are plenty of cheap ones in the used market (like all other Peavey amps) it would be a really cool buy. A bit meh for US$1900 new, since it's basically a 6505 with tubescreamer and noise gate built in.
Amps:
Soldano SLO100 x2 | Wizard MC1 & MC2 | Diezel Herbert
Fryette Pittbull CL | Marshall 2203KK | Krank Rev 50 | Mesa Mark 2A

Rack stuff:
VHT/Fryette GP3, GP/DI & 2/90/2 | Peters FSM/Chimera
Verellen Meatsmoke | Synergy SYN1 | Mesa Studio

The lead channel is based on an original block letter 5150, with some tweaks.
It also boasts an XLR out with cab sim, and wattage control.
Also has two serial effects loops and two 9v power outputs at the back for pedals.

Not fair to say it's 'basically a 6505' as the clean section has been completely rebuilt, one of the gripes with the first 5150/6505 amps.

Either way, this looks dope. Will be buying one once they are available in NZ in a few months.

2 guys on SSO received theirs. One has an "Assembled in USA" sticker and the other one has a "Made in China" sticker, lol.

Peavey moved all their production to china didnt they? There was that infamous undercover boss episode. How much was "assembled" in the US? Just putting the stickers on?

Yeah, but the Misha fanbois theory was that Peavey probably found some factory in the states to OEM it for them.

With all the bells and whistles it's nearly impossible to get that made in the states at US$1900 retail, but for a Chinese amp that's definitely very expensive.
