Mesa Boogie MK IV
Hi guys,
I hope this is in the right place - please forgive me if it's not.
I'm touring a band in mid Feb that need a Mesa Boogie MK IV (either the head or combo will do). These are obviously pretty thin on the ground. Just wondering if anyone has one (or knows of someone that has one) in Auckland that I could hire?
Many thanks!

Re: Mesa Boogie MK IV
I assume it's for Neurosis? Doubt there are many MK4's around in NZ, but if they can take MK5's you should be able to find a few to borrow/hire here. Just depends on if the pre-programmed switching system they use are compatible.

Re: Mesa Boogie MK IV
There's an NZ Guitarists/Bassists facebook group which might help you out. They get way more traffic over there.

Re: Mesa Boogie MK IV
Yeah, has to be a MK IV, unfortunately.
Do you happen to know the name of that guitarists/bassists facebook group? I can't seem to find anything with more than a couple of dozen members.
In the meantime, if anyone has any other ideas for places I could try chasing this up - please let me know!
Thanks so much guys!

Hmmmm, that doesn't look very metal - could you cover it in chequer plate and barbed wire maybe?
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Yes and no. There are lots but I've found few that replicate my preferred settings.HackSaw wrote:Neurosis need them some Kempers. Mk IV profiles up the wazoo I would imagine?

That looks like it could work... could you please shoot me through an email at jack@lifeisnoise.com (my account appears to be too new to send PMs).Kiwiaxe wrote:Here's mine.
Should I have heard of Neurosis? Not on my radar TBH.
Thanks so much!

Re: Mesa Boogie MK IV
One of them has an elaborate switching system programmed around a Fender Twin and a MK4, which handles all channel/pedals/pickup switching. These 2 amps are rather easy to hire in NA/EU so sometimes he just bring the pedals and the switching system for touring. That's probably why he can't just hire a MK5 instead, since the switching might work differently.HackSaw wrote:Neurosis need them some Kempers. Mk IV profiles up the wazoo I would imagine?
Also modellers and doom metal just don't mix very well haha.
